RBLA Mentorship Program
Course No.
The program is designed to offer a positive adult image to a young person outside the family and home. I believe when caring, concerned adults are available to young people they are likely to have fewer absences from school. better attitudes towards school, fewer incidents of physical altercations, less drug and alcohol use, more positive attitudes toward their elders and toward helping in general, and improved relationships with their parents. I also believe that mentoring must be augmented with other services, such as academic supports and other resources to assist the mentors. Mentoring developers three major areas that are critical to young people's success in life: educational achievement; health and safety; and social and emotional development.
